Totem Artists, Recording Artist, T. J. Doyle is the True Thing

(PRWEB) March 3, 2010 -- New Los Angeles area recording artist, T.J. Doyle http://www.tjdoyle.net, is poised to take on the pop-rock genre with his smooth, catchy and personal style. Doyle's debut album, One True Thing was just released this past fall on the independent record label, Totem Artists Inc., and will have its first single "Why" forthcoming shortly. After assembling a group with a lush musical landscape of experience, and recording with Grammy award winning mixer Tom Weir, T.J. Doyle has the talent to make an impact on the scene.

Doyle's sound is distinct in its capacity to comfortably weave different instruments and sounds together to create soothing, yet powerful melodies. Acoustic and electric guitars are used to accentuate, not overpower one another, and even further reinforcing their thriving musical environment. When the guitars aren't driving the group, keyboard and piano work quickly takes over, adding another dimension to their sound. The drum and bass rhythms are spiced up with additional percussion work, such as maracas, bongos, chimes and tambourine. Doyle has a unique ability as a songwriter, with lyrical themes ranging from heartbreak and relationships to maturity and hope. His voice and emotion is gentle with starkly honest content, with the potential of having fans singing along in their cars to every song.

Immediately noticeable is the band's professional experience, as their styles easily fit together like pieces of a puzzle. While Doyle writes the music and lyrics himself, his supporting cast already has a variety of accolades from playing with major musical acts. Guitarist Tim Pierce recorded with classic rock legends Bruce Springsteen and Eric Clapton, while other guitarist Bruno Coon works with Randy Newman on film scores. David Sutton pulls double duty on the bass and cello, bringing his experience from playing with Lucinda Williams. Rock Deadrick handles the drums and percussion, and his time spent with Ziggy Marley can be heard in many of their upbeat songs.

Deadrick, Sutton and Pierce were all formerly part of pop-rock sensation Tracy Chapman's band, easily falling back into their dynamic with Doyle. Rounding out this seven piece unit is Phil Parlapiano on keyboard and accordion, and Carina Round supplying beautiful backing vocals.

Doyle and his touring band plan to begin performing regular shows in May, supporting One True Thing and their single "Why." The band is setting their standards high, and already beginning writing their 2nd album to be released early next year, hopefully to a throng of supporters, hungry for more.
